St. Louis Blues assistant general manager Martin Brodeur and goaltender development coach Ty Conklin will be goaltending coaches for the remainder of the season.

They replace Jim Corsi, who was fired Wednesday after three seasons as Blues goaltending coach. Corsi was fired along with coach Ken Hitchcock.

Associate coach Mike Yeo was named to replace Hitchcock.

"Jim Corsi has coached Hall of Fame goaltenders and Vezina-winning goaltenders, but there was a disconnect for whatever reason," general manager Doug Armstrong said. "I'm not blaming the goalies, I'm not blaming Jimmy. I'm just saying right now we're near the bottom of the League, certainly in the last couple of months, in save percentage and goals-against, and that has to change."

The Blues are 28th in the League in goals-against, allowing 3.12 per game. Since Dec. 8, they've allowed 3.54 goals per game, and St. Louis is 9-14-1 in that span.

Jake Allen, in his first season as the Blues' No. 1 goaltender, is 17-13-3 with a 2.86 goals-against average and .895 save percentage in 36 games (35 starts). He's been pulled from four of his past six starts and was left home from a trip to play the Winnipeg Jets on Jan. 21 to rest mentally. He allowed four goals on 23 shots in a 5-3 loss against the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday.

Carter Hutton, his backup, is 7-7-2 with a 2.81 GAA and .896 save percentage in 22 games (14 starts).

"It's really infortunate," Allen said of Corsi. "It's been a tough feeling in here all day, and I know for [Hutton], Jimmy's such a great guy as you guys know. So happy and positive. He's just a great person. It's really tough for us to take today. I'm sure it is for him as well. I haven't gotten to speak with him yet. Tough loss for us."

Brodeur played the final seven games of his NHL career with the Blues during the 2014-15 season and was hired as assistant GM on May 20, 2015. He is the NHL all-time leader in regular-season wins (691), shutouts (125), games played (1,266) and minutes played (74,439). In the Stanley Cup Playoffs, he ranks first in shutouts (24) and is second in wins (113). He helped the New Jersey Devils win the Stanley Cup in 1995, 2000 and 2003.

"[Brodeur] knows what I can do and how I can do it," Allen said. "I think he's going to be there to help me out, especially with him just recently playing and knowing the game and being around the game for so long. He knows what's up and he's going to be a good addition for us."

Conklin has been with the Blues since the 2013-14 season, working with goaltending prospects in the NHL and the American Hockey League. He spent nine seasons in the NHL, including two with the Blues from 2009-11. In 215 games with six teams, he was 96-67-17 with four ties, a 2.69 GAA and a .906 save percentage.
